NIMG-24. LONGITUDINAL MR SPECTROSCOPY TO DETECT PROGRESSION IN PATIENTS WITH LOWER-GRADE GLIOMA IN THE SURVEILLANCE PHASE

چکیده

Abstract BACKGROUND Monitoring lower-grade gliomas (LrGGs) for disease progression is made difficult by the limits of anatomical MRI to distinguish treatment-related tissue changes from tumor progression. MR spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) offers additional metabolic information that can help address these challenges. The goal this study was compare longitudinal in multiparametric MRI, including diffusion-weighted imaging, perfusion and 3D MRSI, LrGG patients who progressed at final time point those remained clinically stable. METHODS Forty-one with were stable longitudinally assessed Changes anatomical, diffusion, perfusion, MRSI data acquired compared between progressed. RESULTS Thirty-one stable, 10 Over period, had a significantly greater increase normalized choline, choline-to-N-acetylaspartic acid index (CNI), creatine, creatine-to-N-acetylaspartic (CRNI), than patients. CRNI associated status WHO type. Progressed astrocytoma increases CONCLUSIONS surveillance tumors increasing choline creatine metabolite signals on trend T2 FLAIR volumes, These show be used conjunction studies gain clearer picture progression, especially setting clinical ambiguity.

Low-grade glioma: correlation of short echo time 1H-MR spectroscopy with 23Na MR imaging.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE There is considerable variability in the clinical behavior and treatment response of low-grade (WHO grade II) gliomas. The purpose of this work was to characterize the metabolic profile of low-grade gliomas by using short echo time (1)H-MR spectroscopy and to correlate metabolite levels with MR imaging-measured sodium ((23)Na) signal intensity. Based on previous studies, ...

Adjuvant therapy versus surgery in controlling seizure in patients with low-grade glioma tumor

Introduction: Since surgical treatment for tumorous lesions does not always lead to complete patient recovery, it is possible for the attacks to continue. To help plan for the patients' health, this study aimed to compare the therapeutic effects of adjuvant therapy and surgery in controlling seizure of low-grade glioma (LGG) patients in Firoozgar Hospital in 2013-2014. Methods: In this analyti...

Thromboembolism in patients with high-grade glioma.

OBJECTIVE To identify factors related to increased or decreased risk of thromboembolism (TE) in patients with high-grade glioma. DESIGN We performed a retrospective analysis of 64 patients enrolled in two prospective clinical trials of chemotherapy and radiation therapy for newly diagnosed high-grade glioma. MATERIAL AND METHODS The 64 patients were 18 years of age or older and had histolog...
